How did this glow effect happen?? I didn’t set it up this way. I just added the device and it was like this, But I like it! I would like to make the rest of the devices like this!
The icon on the left is how all the rest of the devices are… but I really kinda like this “new” one…
Go into edit tile, and then expand appearance, then you’ll see existing conditional overrides, and they can be added there as well. I have my lighting tiles turning blue when on as well. It looks like the glow is on by default for the lighting style tiles.
It’s just weird. I never set it up with the blue. The one in her left has been the default since day1, and they that have all been until today. I do kind of like the blue!
This is probably due to the icon’s glow color as defined by the theme/style applied to the tile.
(ignore the rotated icon / wip on something)
That’s the weird thing. This is custom theme. I didn’t define that color for glow.
Email me your configuration and I’ll be able to help
This may sound dumb, but how donI do that?
Here is the configuration for the global theme for global effect, definitely NOT blue
In the Account Settings, go to the Config Manager and email the configuration to yourself, and then fwd that to me at info@hubivue.com
I finally figured it out - it isn’t a bug, but is working as designed.
A feature of hubiVue is to look at the device and if it has a “hue” attribute, it will use the color of the bulb to set the glow color. So if you had set the device RGB/Hue to red, then the glow color will follow and be red as well. Perhaps I should have added a setting “Match Glow Color to that of device’s Hue [ x ]”
Sounds good, except that this device is a group device, and all of the bulbs in it are Innr soft white (2700) bulbs. I can’t set the color or hue. It is fixed at 2700,. I think you may still have a bug.
Check the attributes listed for the device because the code literally only does this if the attribute exists - it may not have a valid value, but the device is reporting a hue value.
As mentioned, I could / should add an option to ignore this, as there are cases when you’d want the tile glow to follow the theme and not the color hue of the bulb/light etc
Well dang, this is definitely weird. I never set the hue in that device either, just added the devices and hit save. Sure enough there was a hue there. Again. funny thing is these bulbs weren’t even capable of that color, they are just dimmable white zigbee bulbs. Thanks for getting that figured out though!
This could simply be a Hubitat thing - where if you select the wrong type of Group Device, it will have color capabilities even if the bulbs within the group are not Color capable. I think there is a Group Dimmer and Group Bulb Dimmer device where the first is just on/off and level, and the later is that plus color/temp values… so maybe you’ve just got the wrong type of device setup ??
